New York State Education officials are poised to let the 700 districts in the state know what they need to do in order to possibly reopen in the fall.

Governor Andrew Cuomo July 8 said the Education Department would present a framework for reopening guidance July 13 to the Board of Regents, with the full guidance to come later and a final decision on getting children back in the classroom the week of August 1 to 7.

School districts were told to have plans for reopening ready to submit to the State by July 31.

With coronavirus cases on the rise in much of the country, districts elsewhere have announced plans for distance learning or a blend of remote and in-person classes.
