This app comes with many useful features. According to Sheriff Akshar, this new app is free download and was developed to help Broome County residents and visitors better connect with the Sheriff’s Office, in addition to improving communication and transparency between the law enforcement agency and the community.

Transparency and effective communication have been cornerstones of our administration’s new vision for the Broome County Sheriff’s Office from the very start. This new, free app serves as a centralized and unprecedented informational resource to help keep our community up-to-date with the latest activity from the men and women at the Broome County Sheriff’s Office like never before. - Broome County Sheriff Fred Akshar

Sherriff Akshar also notes that over 80% of US residents own and use smartphones as their primary means of communication, The app was designed and is used in other counties throughout the United States by TheSheriffApp.com.
