My Awesome Father’s Day
I had a great Father's Day weekend. My wife Chris and my stepson Ian both did a great job by making me feel loved and appreciated all weekend long.
It started on Friday when I got home from work and Ian suggested that we take a trip to my favorite pizza place and that he and his mother would buy me dinner for Father's Day. So we took the hour-long ride to Peckville Pennsylvania and we met up with one of my sisters and my brother-in-law there. After we were done with the pizza, we headed back to their house and hung out there for a little bit before returning to Binghamton.
Saturday morning, I went to a housewarming party for a friend of mine who was also a former co-worker. After Chris and I left there, we picked up Ian and his father (John) and made our way to the Zoo Brew at the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park. We walked around sampling the beer and wine and checking out the animal exhibits as well. We decided to grab something to eat after we left there, so we went to a local Binghamton bar for some food and more drinks. Then we went to our house where we had a fire out on the patio and we just sat around talking and drinking for hours.
Sunday morning, Chris and I, along with Ian and his dad, and some other friends of ours, made our way to the Colonial in Downtown Binghamton for Father's Day brunch. We ordered there huge Breakfast Bagel sandwiches. Have you seen this thing? It says it feeds from 10 to 15 people and there were 10 of us at the table so we were good to go.
After we left there, Ian and his dad went to his father's house to celebrate the rest of their Father's Day. From what I heard, Ian cooked an incredible steak dinner for his dad. Chris and I decided to do some gambling yesterday thinking I might get lucky because it was Father's Day. I did not. But, all in all, it was a great weekend. I hope your father's day was awesome as well.
