Barnes & Noble reportedly has multiple parties have expressed bidding for the company.

Barnes & Noble is the nation's largest retail book vendor and operates online with its Nook brand.

Online shopping and Amazon have obviously hurt the retail store. Shopper preferences have also hindered the sales of the brick and mortar book shop.

Barnes & Nobles sales topped $7 billion in 2012 and have fallen to $3.7 billion with the increasing competition of other outlets.
