The summer season may be over, but things to do, enjoy, and learn throughout the Southern Tier and beyond continue to heat up. Here are a few things coming up that you may be interested in checking out.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies Playoffs

The regular season for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies has ended with one of their best years so far, and the playoff rounds have begun. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies defeated the Somerset Patriots on Tuesday, and return home on Thursday, September 18th, for game 2 (and possibly game 3 on Friday, September 19th) at Mirabito Stadium.

 There will be a rally towel giveaway before the game when gates open at 5:00 PM, and postgame Miller Auto Team Fireworks. If the Rumble Ponies win on Thursday night, the series is over, and they are the Northeast Division Champions.
The Ponies would then await the winner of the Altoona Curve vs. Erie SeaWolves series. The Championship Series would then start in Binghamton on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 4:05 PM with gates opening at 3 PM.

Africa House Showcases

The Africa House Showcases 4 Artists for the Broome County Arts Council Art Trail 2025 will be held September 27th and 28th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Africa House located at 50 Washington Avenue in Endicott.

The event will showcase four local artists -  Wynn Yarrow (Painting & Calligraphy), Alexis Magera (Oil Painting), Emmy Thelander (Watercolor & Drawing), and Austin Laughlin (Wood & Metal).

September 27th will feature a Dip Pen Calligraphy Demo by Wynn Yarrow, and on September 28th from Noon to 2 pm.m, there will be a musical performance by Larry Lolli.

Chenango County Autumn Family Fun

The Chenango County Department of Health has announced 'Autumn Family Fun at Peila View Farm' on September 20th and 21st, located at 144 Kilroy Road in Oxford, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry fee is normally $10.

The first 225 attendees are free by calling ahead to reserve a voucher. Vouchers are also available for any child with special health care needs and their family members.  Children aged two and under are free.

Binghamton University Changing Minds About Stress

The Binghamton University Alumni Association is offering 'Changing Minds About Stress: Stress Mindset, Resilience and Well-Being' at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 27th, in the Chenango Champlain Collegiate Center (C4) Multipurpose Room on the Binghamton University campus.

The event is free and open to the public. Free parking will be available in campus surface lots and the garage. For more information, call 607-777-2424 or email alumni@binghamton.edu.

Exploring Elder Law Options

On Thursday, September 25th, the Broome County Office for Aging Caregiver Services is inviting older adults and caregivers to attend 'Exploring Elder Law Options: A Showcase for Older Adults and Caregivers.'

It will be held on Thursday, September 25th, at the Broome County West Senior Center, 2801 Wayne Street in Endwell, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
