Plans are moving forward for a clinic in Johnson City to provide health and wellness services for older residents.

Binghamton University is working with Lourdes Hospital to open the facility on Jennison Avenue near the recently-opened Decker College of Nursing building.

University president Harvey Stenger said the design work for the wellness center facility has been completed.

Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, Stenger said components of the pre-engineered building will be delivered to the site for assembly.

Stenger said Lourdes will help by staffing and managing the wellness center. He said graduate students in the nursing program will be able to see patients at the site as part of their clinical work.

The schedule for the project has been delayed since it was announced. The estimated completion date now is set for December.
