Bob’s Discount Furniture Vestal Store Opening Next Week

A rapidly-growing furniture retailer is preparing to launch its first store in the Binghamton area.

Workers at the future Bob's Discount Furniture location in Vestal's Parkway Plaza have been busy over the past few weeks setting up displays.

The store is in the space that most recently had been occupied by a JOANN Fabric and Craft operation. The JOANN store closed early last year.

Ashley Libby, the manager of the new Bob's Discount Furniture store, said "we're very excited to be part of the community."

The soft opening for the 34,500-square-foot store is scheduled for next Monday. The grand opening is set for July 17.

Libby said the grand opening will feature a red carpet and giveaways for customers. She said "we want people to come in and visit us."

The Vestal store is opening a bit sooner than originally anticipated. It had been expected to start operations this fall.

The new business is located next door to the Target department store.

Bob's Discount Furniture is based in Connecticut. The company operates more than 200 showrooms in 27 states.
