Union Volunteer Emergency Squad Hosts Community Events
National EMS week is a way to thank those who serve in emergency medical services, as well as paramedics for all that they do for their communities but for one local squad, using the week to educate our community, is top of their list.
In celebration of EMS week, the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad is hosting a variety of community events to raise awareness and educate the Southern Tier community during EMS week, starting on Saturday, May 20.
The community is invited to visit the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad's Central station at 8 South Avenue B in Endicott on Saturday, May 20th starting at noon for an ambulance tour and show and tell with a local Girl Scout Troop.
On Sunday, May 21, the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad will be holding its annual awards and member picnic at Highland Park beginning at 11:00 a.m.
On Monday, May 22, the public is invited to attend a community Hands-Only CPR class at the Central Station located at 8 South Avenue B in Endicott at 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 24, the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad will host a Fall Prevention presentation at Good Shepherd Village in Endicott inside Good Shepherd Village's social hall starting at 2:00 p.m.
On Thursday, May 25, Johnson City High School students will be treated to an EMS showcase from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and on Friday, May 26th, the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad will partner with Broome County Traffic Safety to host a Car Seat Check event from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at East Station which is located at 873-875 Riverside Drive in Johnson City.
