St. Patrick's Day is almost here, and we are looking for the best places in the United States to celebrate. Luckily, we don't have to go too far for a good time because New York is one of the best places in the country to celebrate the holiday!

A new study has ranked the top states for St. Patrick's Day festivities, with Massachusetts taking the first place prize but the Empire State isn't very far behind.

The study looked into many factors like the number of St. Patrick's Day events, the cost to party of St. Paddy's Day and the overall popularity of the holiday in each state.

The Number 1 Place For St. Patrick's Day

Massachusetts was the winner with a score of 75.27 out of 100. The reason they got the pot of gold is because of their St. Patrick's Day events, with 48 listed on Eventbrite. It also topped the charts in Google search popularity, with a monthly average of 245 searches for every 100,000 residents.

Coming in second place is Illinois, with a score of 73.89. The state hosted 86 St. Patrick's Day events and was second in Google search popularity, with 237 searches per 100,000 residents. Pennsylvania takes the bronze with a score of 68.29. The Keystone State had 60 events and  217 monthly searches per 100,000 residents.

Ranking fourth on the list is none other than the great state of New York, with an score of 65.45. the Empire State had 144 St. Patrick's Day events, the second highest in the study.

It also did well in Google search popularity, coming in fifth  with 214 searches per 100,000 people. Here's an added bonus for us, most of the events here have free admission, making it an affordable holiday...or more money to buy your drinks with.

Rounding out the top five is Ohio, with a score of 62.57. The state hosted 43 events and had  212 searches for every 100,000 residents. Event pricing averaged a ticket price of   $7.77,

At the other end of the spectrum, Mississippi ranked as the worst state to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, with a score of only 18.37. The state only had one St. Patrick's Day event and had the lowest search popularity for the holiday.

Top 20 Best Cities to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in America

WalletHub recently completed a study of 2023's Best Cities for St. Patrick's Day. They took a number of factors into consideration... like number of Irish Pubs, restaurants per capita, and even lowest price for a 3-star hotel.
