New Yorkers Demand Quick Delivery and Cheap Prices
We all know technology has changed the way we shop, right? With our smartphones, we can check prices between the different stores. Let's face it, we've gotten used to fast delivery and cheap prices.
A recent poll by USA TODAY Blueprint looked at how New Yorkers and Americans feel about the pricing. 42% said that they get ticked off about prices at least once a week, but not all brands are on the naughty list. Sharpie came out as the fairest brand, followed by Anker, Honda, Toyota, Dove, and Rubbermaid.
Even though we complain about high prices, we still cough up the dough. Why? Well, the top reasons are quality (we want the good stuff), urgency (we don't have time to check the different prices) and limited options (you're in the middle of nowhere and there's only one store around).
How about the retail stores? Costco has the fairest prices among the big-name brands. But Amazon and Walmart crashed the party and ranked higher than most physical stores when it comes to fair pricing.
In New York, where living costs can make our wallet weep, pricing takes on a whole new level of importance. With many options to choose (including local stores and online businesses), New Yorkers like to get the biggest bang for our buck.
It's quality and consistency that seem to matter the most to us.. We love a great deal, but if the cheaper items can't hold a candle to the good stuff, we don't want it. So, keep your eyes peeled and make smart choices. Because, ain't nobody got time for that or the money to waste!
