Broome County Highway Crews Tackle Ditches, Culverts and Guide Rails This Week

Broome County Highway Department crews are fanning out across the county's roadways this week for a mix of drainage, patching, guide rail and roadside maintenance work, according to a release from the Department of Public Works Highway Division.

The work started Monday, July 13, and touches roads across several parts of the county, from ditch cleaning to striping.

Broome County Ditch Cleaning and Culvert Maintenance Locations

Crews are cleaning ditches on Greenwood Road, Dunham Hill Road, Old Route 17, and Powers Road this week. Culvert work is scheduled on North Sanford Road, East Maine Road, Oquaga Lake Road, and North Road.

Colesville Road Asphalt Patching and Road Repairs

Colesville Road is scheduled for grader patching with hot-mix asphalt.

Highway Guide Rail Repairs Scheduled on Broome County Roads

Guide rail repairs are on the schedule for Day Hollow Road, Powderhouse Road, Industrial Park, and Trim Street.

Road Mowing, Line Striping, and Driver Safety Delays

Crews are also mowing the right-of-way along county roadways and striping roads with a paint truck as part of routine seasonal maintenance.

Drivers on any of the listed roads should expect to see highway crews and equipment working roadside and should use caution when passing through work areas.
