
UPDATE: NY AMBER Alert Issued for Abducted Cortland Children Canceled
ORIGINAL STORY | On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, the Cortland County Sheriff's Office activated the New York State AMBER Alert for the abduction of two children which took place near North Main Street in Cortland at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2023.

The first abducted child is 3-year-old Anthony M. Bowman III, a Black male who stands 3 feet, six inches, and weighs roughly 45 pounds. Anthony has short brown hair and blue eyes. The child was last seen wearing an orange t-shirt, khaki shorts, and PAW Patrol sandals.
Also abducted was 2-year-old Aaliyah E. Bowman. Aaliyah is a Black female who is two feet tall and weighs 25 pounds. Aaliyah has curly, brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a purple onesie with a dark purple heart, a multi-colored skirt, and flip-flops.
The suspected abductor is Anthony M. Bowman Jr., a 30-year-old Black male with short brown hair and brown eyes. Anthony is 6 feet 0 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. It is not known what the suspect was wearing at the time of the abduction. Anthony has a lower left arm tattoo of a Virgo symbol and a right upper arm tattoo of a cross and ribbon.
The vehicle police say was used in the abduction is a red SUV Chevrolet Equinox. The driver’s side door has sustained damage. The vehicle carries the New York license plate number KYV2137. Also, there is a spare tire and rim on the driver’s side.
Cortland County Sheriff’s say that the suspect was last seen traveling on North Main Street and they are not sure where he is heading. However, both children were taken under circumstances that lead the police to believe they are in imminent danger of serious harm and death.
