It's summer time. That brings a lot of good things to mind. When I think of summer, I think of lots of sunshine (yes, I know we live in the northeast and that means a good amount of clouds and rain), warm and hot temperatures, vacations, ice cold drinks and summer type foods like corn on the cob hamburgers, hot dogs, potato and macaroni salads, my favorite kind of chips and of course, apple pie.

I'm salivating as I think of all of it. I am about to embark on my first vacation of the summer, and am excited. The past three months have been so stressful for all of us, and I am so ready to take a break. But as we say in the radio business, we are never really on vacation, and that's fine as long as I get to spend sometime sitting in a lounge chair with a cool drink in my hand, thinking of absolutely nothing.

My vacations are usually the same. That means spending a week at a campground in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The Endless Mountains regions is so beautiful, peaceful and quiet. I also love how friendly residents of Pennsylvania are. I have to remind myself to repress my New York attitude when I'm around people.

I plan on doing a lot of nothing on my week off, except unfortunately, I somehow made a mistake and scheduled a visit to my dentist during my week off. During a recent checkup, it was discovered I had a cavity that need  to be replaced. Once again, I will be reunited with my friends, Novocaine and the dental drill. They have been a big part of my life since I was five years old. Always a good time.

Happy summertime. I hope your vacation is not far off, and will be dental free.
