A recall of Bush Brothers baked beans is making its way around the internet. But, should you be concerned?

It turns out the recall in question dates back to July of last year. It included three different varieties of baked beans in 28 Oz cans due to a scene issue on the can. For some reason, the old recall is making its way around the internet again. Which I guess is a good thing if you still have cans of Boston baked beans from last year. The concern with defective cans is the possibility of harmful bacteria to start to grow inside the product.

If you have any cans Bush's Baked Beans you might want to check the info below.

According to the Bush's website, the cans in question were certain 28-ounce cans of Brown Sugar Hickory Baked Beans, Country Style Baked Beans, and Original Baked Beans.

If the Best By date is any date other and "June2019", then your product is fine and is not part of the recall.

If your Best By date is "Jun2019" then check the lot code on the bottom of the can.

The 28 ounce Brown Sugar Hickory Baked Bean lot codes that were in the recall include.
6097S GF, and 6097P GF

The 28 Ounce Country Style Baked Beans that were recalled had the lot codes,
6077S RR, 6077P RR, 6087S RR, and 6087P RR.

The 28 ounce Original Baked Beans that were involved in the recall had the lot codes,
6057S LC and 6057P LC.

Bush's website says that the FDA Closed the voluntary recall on April 12, 2018.

If you do have cans that match both the Best Buy Date and a lot code above, you can call the company at 1-800-590-3797 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. To 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

I love Bush's Baked beans and I always loved their TV commercial with Duke the Golden Retriever. So, Keep in mind if you see this recall going around again on the internet that is is in fact from last year. But, I guess it's always better to be safe than sorry.
