The NFL Sunday night football game is usually one of the best matchups, if not thee best matchup of the week. I usually hang out in my bar in the basement of my house to watch the first half, then watch the second half in bed while I'm falling asleep.

I am an Eagles fan. I hate when the Eagles play Sunday night. We always have people over the house to watch the games and we have eight different games on TVs in my bar. When the Eagles are playing the Sunday night game, I have a hard time enjoying the other games thinking about the Eagles game later that night. I'd rather have them play at 1 and basically get the game over with so I can enjoy the 4 p.m. games and then the Sunday night game.

So last night it was a matchup between my Eagles and the San Francisco 49 ers. It was more like MASH unit 1 versus MASH unit 2. Both teams we're missing several starting players. The Eagles offensive line had two guys off the practice squad. One of them was a rugby player from Australia that only played football for three years, and had only played 12 NFL snaps prior to getting the start last night.

Besides missing key players on their offensive line, Philadelphia was missing three of their starting receivers and one of their starting tight ends, plus a bunch of injured players on defense.

The Niners had a bunch of injuries as well, including their starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and corner back Richard Sherman just to name a few.

I knew it was going to be a long night with my alarms set to start going off at 3:30 a.m. I was actually half tempted to DVR the game and just go to bed and then decide today whether or not I would actually watch the game. If I didn't have to be to work before 5 a.m., I would have no problem staying up and watching the entire game.

I stayed awake to watch it and of course it came down to the last few seconds of the game. The Eagles won 25 to 20 which made getting only three and a half hours of sleep a little easier to handle.
