HPV Documentary Screening at Binghamton University
A screening of a documentary on the Human Papilloma Virus is being held September 23 at Binghamton University.
The Broome County Health Department is partnering with the university in showing the film: “Someone You Love: The HPV Epidemic.”
The free screening is being held at 6 p.m. at the Binghamton University’s Old Union.
HPV is a common sexually transmitted infection that could cause several types of cancer. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says HPV infections are so common that nearly all men and women will get at least one type at some point in their lives in spite of the availability of a vaccine to protect children before they are exposed to a disease.
The free screening is funded by the State of New York Cancer Prevention in Action Grant, the State Health Department Adult Immunization Grant and in partnership with Binghamton University’s health Promotion and Prevention Services and B.U. Department of Health and Wellness Program.
