I remember the inception of cable TV in the early 70’s, it was $5 a month for 13 channels, but since then we have witnessed cable television explode with every type of specialized programming possible, and we are being charged for it whether we like it or not.

I personally watch about 4 channels on a regular basis and the rest I spend flipping through only to go back to my primary ones.

If you have high speed internet, a phone service and a standard HD cable package you can expect to spend around 2 grand a year. If you add pay per view movies and deluxe channels like HBO and Showtime, Cha-Ching $$

If I could find a way to get just the programs I wanted, I would drop it all tomorrow.
It’s getting to the point where I’m seriously considering it anyway.

I feel the internet should be free; there is enough traffic and businesses on line that Wi Fi should not cost us $40 bucks a month.

I also feel that we should be able to pick what channels we want and pay for them instead of having hundreds of them forced on us along with a huge monthly bill.

If the internet was free, we could order the channels directly from the creators and not be slaves to the cable companies.

I am all for businesses that take care of their employees and provide quality service to their customers, but this is pure gluttony on the part of the cable TV providers so when will this BS end?
