James Garner was a nearly perfect actor. He could be funny, witty, sexy, or a man's man. And in real life, he was a good man. As good as they get.

He acted alongside the greats. Audrey Hepburn, Doris Day. You name 'em, he acted with 'em. But he never lived that Hollywood lifestyle. His family just quietly lived a normal life. he should've written a book about that. Oh wait...he did! "The Garner Files."

When John Ritter died on the set of "8 Simple Rules", it was Garner who stepped in to become the male anchor of the cast. He never backed down from any challenge.

I like to remember Garner's wit. It was unassuming and then "pow!" you got it.

Thanks Mr. Garner for the memories...
