Yep, there's an app for that. According to National Day Calendar, today is National App Day.

I remember the first time I was introduced to an app on a mobile phone. One of my brothers had purchased a iPhone and was playing gaseous noises from his phone. I didn't understand how he was making that happen on a mobile phone.

At the time I had no idea what apps where. Since my phone was an old analog contraption, it didn't have the ability to contain these new, interesting things called apps. My brother showed me all sorts of cool apps that he had downloaded, and I was mesmerized. Yea, it doesn't take much to excite me.

As time moved on and most phones were app friendly, I decided to upgrade to this century and see what the fuss was all about. Glad I did. Currently, I have about four pages of app on my phone.

My favorite? C'mon, it's the Whale app! Since we introduced it a couple of years ago, we've made many improvements, including the ability to chat with us when we're on the air. You can listen to our radio station, see what's on our website, check local weather and enter many cool contests, just to name a few of the things available on our phone app, which by the way, is free. Just like listening to the radio, all free.

I'm always looking for cool apps to add to my phone, so tell me, what are some of your favorite phone apps? Happy National App Day!
