I don't consider myself as a procrastinator. Well, at least I don't think I am, mostly.
That was a wishy-washy statement, right?

I like to think I have a good sense of what needs to get done, and I tackle everyday responsibilities accordingly, either early or on time. Sometimes I like to push the envelope and wait on a project just for the thrill and pressure of getting something done at the last minute, but that rarely happens.

What is this all leading to? Well, there is one thing I procrastinate about, and that's shopping for gifts. Doesn't matter if it's for Christmas, birthdays, Mother's/Father's Day, Valentines Day (I am not fond of that day) or whatever occasion it is that involves buying gifts.

The pressure to come up with that perfect gift is a tough one for me. That's probably why I wait until the last minute to get off my butt and go buy something. I don't want to purchase a gift that is boring or something that the person will never use.

I want the reaction to be, "Oh wow, that's so cool. I've never thought I'd get to own one of these things!" Of course, that's where the pressure is real. Sometimes I think a gift has more meaning for the giver than the person who receives it.

So, this holiday season, I will probably scramble to find gifts on the 23rd and 24th of December as I do most years. It's fun running around the stores with others like myself, slowly going crazy trying to finish up gift buying.

Hey, it works for me, so why rock the boat? Happy holiday shopping!
