Today, we're excited to introduce you to the Johnson City Fire Department. We don't normally spotlight entire departments because we know that it is individuals who make a whole, but after reading the nomination letter that Nikki Freeman wrote, we knew that we needed to tip our hat to the entire department.
My story is a little bit different than most. I don’t have one first responder I have many. I have worked for the Johnson City Fire Department for 13 years. I was welcomed in as part of their family right from day one. In 2015 I lost my husband to a massive heart attack and was left as a single mom of 4 children. I never thought I could make it through this terrible time in life. My first responders were there for my children and I whether it was a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen or step up and acts as the father my children had lost. I cannot thank each and everyone of them enough for helping my family and all the other families they help on a daily basis. You guys rock and I love you all from the bottom of my heart.
Our community is a better place because of each and every member of the Johnson City Fire Department and we salute you and genuinely thank you for being the incredible human that you are!
