Broome County officials have announced the first 18 “short” tees and baskets for a New Disc Golf course at Nathaniel Cole Park are done.  The remaining 18 “long” tees and baskets will be constructed once funding is available.

The Greater Binghamton Disc Golf Club is working on preparing the course for play over the next few weeks by assisting the Parks Department in clearing the course.

Park officials hope to host disc golf tournaments at the facility, boosting regional tourism and park revenue.

The rules for disc golf are similar to traditional golf but the players throw a disc into a basket instead of hitting a golf ball into a hole.
