Ryan Newman Released From Hospital After Daytona Crash
ESPN is reporting that NASCAR driver Ryan Newman has been released from the Daytona hospital just days after one of the scariest NASCAR wrecks in history.
If you were watching the final moments of the Daytona 500 on Monday, I'm sure your heart skipped a beat watching Ryan Newman's car crash 200 miles an hour into the wall after getting bumped by Ryan Blaney, and then getting hit by another car driven by Corey Lajoie prior to hitting the ground, and then landing on it's roof and skidding across the finish line on its roof.
Newman was leading on the final lap of the first race of the NASCAR season when the accident occurred. Yesterday, NASCAR released a statement saying that Ryan Newman was awake and communicating with his family and doctors. And today's news is that the 42 year-old driver has been released from the hospital.
According to ESPN there is no word on whether or not Newman will be driving the number 6 Ford at Las Vegas this weekend.
The Daytona 500 was won by Denny Hamlin who won the race for the second year in a row. Blaney finished second and Ryan Newman finished 9th in the “Great American Race”
