I always wanted to work the drive thru at Mickey D's, so last Friday I went to McDonalds on Harry L Drive in Johnson City to buy random customers their lunch.

One of the best parts of my job is actually meeting people and what better way than buying them lunch and thanking them for listening.

Upon arriving I was greeted by the McDonald's manager Sue, she gave me a hat and brought me back to the drive through location where I met Aaron my drive-thru partner for the next hour.

We picked random customers, so we never knew who they were until they came up to pay for their food.

The reaction were all very similar, people couldn't believe they were getting something for free, many wanted to make a donation, to which I replied this is not for any charity, it's just a thank you and an appreciation for stopping by McDonalds.

I was also amazed at how many people bring their pets with them and buy them some fries or a hamburger.

It was a great feeling to be able to treat our neighbors to a free lunch.

Special thanks to Sue, Aaron, Cathy from McDonalds and my DME Bridget for all the help.

991 The Whale will be heading to another McDonalds in the area next month.
