Joni Mitchell wrote the song, based on her boyfriend, Graham Nash's personal experiences at this 1969 event.

Mitchell, who wasn't at the 3-day hippie fest in Upstate New York, recorded a slow, somber version of the song.

In 1970, Graham and his band Crosby Stills, Nash and Young recorded it for their album Deja Vu. Their version was the more popular one, reaching number 11 on the Billboard charts!

Check out this week's Go Ya Covered video - Crosby, Stills,  Nash, and Young's Woodstock.

I also included Joni Mitchell's version below. Enjoy!
