The pair is accused of stealing a vehicle in Downsville June 6, crashing it and stealing another vehicle in Unadilla.

State Police say they were advised of an erratic driver traveling west on Interstate 88 near Unadilla shortly after 2 a.m. June 6 and attempted to make a traffic stop.  The vehicle accelerated off the Interstate at Exit 10 onto State Highway 7 in Unadilla.  Another trooper joined in an attempted to stop the vehicle before it left the road and hit a tree.

The two teens took off on foot.

As troopers looked for the boys, they spotted them in another vehicle on Route 7 in Unadilla where they again ignored authorities’ orders to stop.  The teens ended up turning into the Speedway gas station at State Routes 7 and 8 in Bainbridge where they were taken into custody at 2:39 a.m..

The boys were released to their legal guardians.
