What an amazing album. Even the word amazing does not give it the justice it deserves.

Her voice is so haunting, and at the same time, so beautiful.

In the Spring of 1973, while my classmates and I were excitedly getting prepared for our senior prom and graduation, we received an early grad gift with the release of the Pink Floyd album 'Dark Side of the Moon.' It was like a gift from heaven, or at least from the Moon!

On this day that year, the LP shot up to the number one position on the US album charts. It was such a powerful album, it stayed on the top 200 chart for 741 weeks. I'm trying to think of the song that I like the best from that LP, but it's a tough call. Maybe if I'm pressed to come up with one tune, it probably would be 'The Great Gig In The Sky', featuring Claire Torry, who at that time was a 25 year old session vocalist. Her voice is so haunting, and at the same time, so beautiful.

Given that I like the song so much, let's enjoy this video of Pink Floyd performing 'Great Gig In The Sky.'
