COVID Relief Takes Flight in Ithaca
The Moment of Movement fundraiser held at the Ithaca Tompkins International Airport last Saturday continues to bring in donations to help families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event was hosted by the Ithaca Marriot Downtown and the Ithaca Tompkins International Airport.
According to a press release, General Manager of the Ithaca Marriott Downtown on the Commons Cathy Hart said “Our first ever Moment of Movement was awesome and we had a beautiful day and a wonderful event, and it could not have been for a better cause.”
The event was created as a crucial need for childcare which has been heavily affected by COVID-19. all the proceeds from the Moment of Movement fundraiser will provide childcare and enrichment activity resources to families, as well as to help employers retain their workforce.
Hart also said , having airplanes take-off or land nearby while exercising could easily become addictive, it takes your mind off what your body is going through, as you imagine where folks are headed!”
The overall goal for this fundraiser is to raise $100,000 to be donated to United Way of Tompkins County and Ithaca Youth Bureau.
You can still make a donation through October 10th.
