A coronavirus mass vaccination site now is operating near CFJ Park in Johnson City.

The facility at what had been a printing plant for the Press & Sun-Bulletin opened Tuesday morning. It's located just east of Airport Road near Route 17.

Workers for several state agencies began preparing the site about one week ago.

Covid-19 vaccines will be provided to people who have made an appointment. People who show up without an appointment will not receive a vaccination.

Appointment information may be obtained online at ny.gov/vaccine. Appointments also may be made by calling (833) 697-4829.

The Johnson City vaccination site is scheduled to be open every day from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

An electronic message board set up at CFJ Boulevard and Airport Road Tuesday morning displayed an arrow that directed motorists away from the site.

The property was acquired by the Binghamton University Foundation for $4.5 million. The university plans to use the former printing plant building for a library annex.
