Cortland Woman Pleads Guilty to Child Exploitation

A Cortland woman will be sentenced in February after pleading guilty to sexually exploiting a child.

The U.S. Attorney’s office and FBI say 25-year-old Brittany Berry admitted she conspired with Lawrence Berry to sexually exploit a 3-year-old child on five different occasions.  The woman admitted she sent images of sexual abuse of the toddler to Lawrence in August and September of last year.

Lawrence Berry’s charges are still pending.

Federal prosecutors say Brittany Berry faces a minimum of 15 years and up to 30 years in prison on each of the six counts: one count of conspiracy to sexually exploit a child and five counts of sexual exploitation of a child.  The Cortland woman  would will also be required to spend at least five years and up to a lifetime on post-release supervision.
