Two Florida residents spending time in the Cortland County Jail are accused of getting outside remote deposits worth several thousand dollars added into their inmate accounts using stolen identities.

29-year-old Isaac Nguyen and 34-year-old Joseph Osborne are charged with felony scheme to defraud and misdemeanor conspiracy.

Cortland County Corrections Officers noticed what appeared to illegal activity in Nguyen and Osborne’s accounts and discovered the identity theft from victims’ credit card accounts had been used to receive remote deposits.

Investigators say they were able to find victims who live in different areas all through the United States.

Both defendants remain in the Cortland County Jail.

The investigation is continuing.
