Beat The Heat New Yorkers: Cooling Assistance For Those In Need
Just days before summer 2024 begins, Mother Nature gave us a preview of what it might be like this year. With temperatures climbing in the upper 90s and a heat index of 100 or more, that's a lot more heat than we are used to. We even beat some parts of Florida for high temperatures this week.
If you live and/or work in an air-conditioned environment, that is a good thing. But not everyone can afford to keep cool. Did you know that New York State's Home Energy Assistance Program might be able to help those without an air-conditioner or fan in their home?
