Let's hop into the Classic Rock Time Machine, and travel back to our younger days. Or for some of you, before you were born.

I've set the date to June 11th, 1966. It was on this day, that Mick Jagger and the Boys were celebrating another number 1 hit on the U.S. singles chart. That accomplishment belonged to 'Paint It Black.' It also topped the singles chart in the U.K. as well. When the Rolling Stones first released the song, there was a comma in the title - 'Paint It, Black.'

The song is found on the Stones album, 'Aftermath' and features the sound of a Sitar, played by George Harrison and Harihar Rao. It was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, recorded in Los Angeles in March of 1966.

A bit of trivia - the 'B' side of the single contains the song 'Stupid Girl.' Take a look at the Rolling Stones performing 'Paint It Black' from a 'Ready, Steady, Go' show in England back in the 60s.
