Today In Classic Rock History

In 1995
The Eagles' "Hell Freezes Over" reunion tour was the highest grossing tour of the year.  The 58-date venture took in more than 60-million-dollars.

I had always want to see The Eagles, in concert and I never got the chance. I always said that if they ever got back together, and they played within a 100 mile radius of Binghamton, I would pay almost any amount to go see them. Well....

In 1995, or 1996 I had the chance! Thunder Reynolds, who used to work for The Whale had tickets, and he could not go. So he offered them to me, for 50-bucks each. Oh My God.. I was finally gonna see The Eagles!
But there was a problem!
No, it wasn't the money. I could afford the 100-bucks to go to the show. And if I didn't have it, I could always let a couple of bills slide for while. My creditors would surely understand. After all, it was The Eagles.

Here was the dilemma, I had to work and I could not get anyone to work for me!

Here I have two tickets to see one of my favorite bands of all time, back together again. Don Henley and Glenn Fry called me up and said "Hey Wally, ya gotta do what you can do. Call in sick... come on?? We will even let you sing backup on "Get Over It!"

Not one single person would help me out, and because I truly care more about my co workers than they apparently car about my Eagles addiction, I begrudgenounly honored my obligation to my employers.

No Finger-lakes Performing Arts Center. No Don and Glenn. No Eagles for Big Wally.
I hope to see them someday live, someday....  but in the meantime... Here's what I didn't get the chance to see live... for you!
