I wasn't sure if I should comment on last Friday's tragic events in Newtown, Connecticut, but here I go anyway.

First, you will not get an opinion on gun control, or how I think this tragedy could have been prevented.
I am no expert on these topics, and therefore do not want to offer any opinion.
Instead, I prefer to focus on the twenty children, seven adults and their families.

I can not even imagine the grief the families are going through.
It's got to be the most devastating thing that they will ever encounter.
How do you recover from this?
Their lives are shattered forever.

Twenty first grade lives are forever lost....FIRST GRADERS.
Six amazing adults who devoted their lives to educating children, no longer with us.
How can anyone comprehend that?
For the kids, no growing up, no proms, no going off to college, marriage, kids of their own, whatever path their lives would have had in store for them.

What possible motive could a person have for ending the lives of innocent children and adults?
President Obama mentioned this must stop.
I agree.
The question is how.
It's something we all need to think about, and maybe find some way to stop tragic events like this from continuing to happen.
Not sure it's entirely possible, or what the answer is, but it is sure to bring out debate, and maybe someday soon, a solution.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families.
