Broome County Legislature is getting ready to pass a final budget and that will apparently include restoring a 50/50 split of the sales tax revenues with local municipalities.

The cap in sales tax money for municipalities went into effect in fiscal 2011 and since 2013, the County has been slowly returning some of the funds to the communities.

The 50/50 restoration was approved in the Finance Committee meeting.

Any proposed changes will be available for inspection in the Legislative Clerk’s office and at www.gobroomecounty.com.

A final budget is to be in place November 27.
