
Binghamton Wins Series Against Sea Dogs
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies took the series from Portland 3-2 with game six suspended as the first effects of Tropical Storm Henri began to hit the eastern coast.
The Ponies lost 5-1 on Friday Night but took both games in Saturdays double header, with Cole Gordon pitching a complete 4-0 shutout in game one, Binghamton’s Jake Mangum was the hero in game two with a bases loaded single in the sixth inning to break a 3-3- tie and put the Ponies ahead for good winning 5-3.

Yesterday’s final game of the series was postponed after four innings due to rain, the teams were locked at 3 a piece and will make up the game on September 7th as the back half of a double header.
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies (43-50) are 7-3 in their last ten games and have moved to within two games of third place New Hampshire (44-47) as the two teams are set to meet in a six game series in New Hampshire starting tomorrow night.
This will be the final series between the two Northeast division rivals in the regular season.
Binghamton will close out the regular season with a home series against Richmond, on the road against Portland and finishing up at home with a series against Reading.
