City of Binghamton to Receive $46 Million in Federal Stimulus Funds
Millions of dollars in federal money is headed to Binghamton City Hall as part of the federal government's Covid-19 pandemic recovery program.
Mayor Richard David Monday afternoon said the city will receive $46.2 million dollars through the initiative. He said that is about $2 million than the amount that had originally been announced.
According to a news release, the first half of the city's allocation is expected to be received this week.
David said the stimulus money "provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the City of Binghamton to catch up on major investments and identify critical needs within the community."
The mayor said anyone with ideas or suggestions on how the funds should be used may contact him by email at mayordavid@cityofbinghamton.com.
