August 3 marks the 25th anniversary of the line-of-duty death of Binghamton Police Officer Lee Barta.

The 29-year-old officer was gunned down as police searched a Liberty Street address for 19-year-old Edmund Travis III of Kirkwood, who was wanted for violating his work-release provisions.
