Police and fire investigators were on the scene of a blaze that broke out in a home on the south side of Binghamton.
The fire at 112 South Washington Street was reported around 1:10 p.m. Friday.
Firefighters quickly extinguished a small blaze in an apartment of the two-family house, which is located between James and Morris streets.
Damage apparently was confined to a small area of the second floor. No injuries were reported.
City detectives and fire department investigators were conducting interviews to determine what happened.
At least five police patrol cars were sent to the same apartment house on Wednesday afternoon for a reported dispute.
It wasn't known whether Wednesday's incident was connected to the suspicious fire.
