Congressman Anthony Brindisi’s office has announced $417,000 to the Binghamton Fire Department and $26,000 to Endicott through the Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.

The City is planning to use the funds to buy new mobile radios for the department while Endicott’s Fire Department is replacing old fire hoses.

Endicott earlier received a “Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response” or “SAFER” grant from the Department of Homeland Security totaling $304,000.  That money went toward the hiring of two firefighters.
