Jim Bryden, a retired architect who lived in Binghamton for several decades has died. He was 75 years old.

According to a published obituary, Bryden died of a heart attack Thursday while bicycling with friends.

Bryden and his wife Sharon moved to Binghamton nearly 50 years ago. He said he was happy that they chose to live in the city after searching for a place to call home.

Bryden was a founding member of the Preservation Association of the Southern Tier. He worked to save historic buildings in the region, including the Lackawanna Train Station in downtown Binghamton.

Bryden developed an architectural awareness program for area high school students. He also worked with the First Ward Action Council to renovate several Victorian-style houses on Front Street in Binghamton.

A funeral service was held in Binghamton on Monday.
