According to information contained in a press release from Binghamton University Matt Dernlan has resigned as the school's head wrestling coach.  Director of Athletics Patrick Elliott made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.

Dernlan was in his sixth season as Binghamton's head wrestling coach.  His team was 3-1 in dual competition so far this season.  The only loss for the Bearcats was to defending national champion Penn State in the Events Center on November 17.  Binghamton has wins over Indianapolis University, Indiana University and Eastern Michigan.

Dernlan came to Binghamton University after one season as Clarion University's head coach.  Prior to that he was an assistant at Penn State for seven years.

Assistant Coach Kyle Borshoff has been named the interim head coach effective immediately.  According to the press release the school will conduct a national search for a new head coach in the spring semester.
