B.U. Teacher Breaks World Record for Ripping License Plates
Bill Clark is a Health and Wellness Studies Adjunct Lecturer at Binghamton University.
According to the Binghamton University website, Clark, a former international medalist for Olympic-style weightlifting, began teaching strength training courses at Binghamton University in the Fall of 2018.
The Guinness World Record for most license plates torn in one minute was 20. Back in August, Clark tore 23 license plates consecutively in 60 Seconds.
According to the article on the Binghamton University website, he thought he could use the record to help raise awareness for Childhood Cancer, a disease that he said is pretty important to him. Guinness agreed to help promote his cause.
Clark got some help from the Broome County Clerk's Office and the Department of Motor Vehicles. They gave him boxes of old license plates so he could practice, being that owning unregistered license plates is illegal in the state.
According to the report, Bill Clark has won championships on state, national, and worldwide levels in the sport of powerlifting.
