Authorities say a skimming device and fraudulent ATM cards were inserted into drive-through ATM's on March 17 and 20 at the Honesdale National Bank and the Dime Bank in Wayne County and suspects were seen using the resulting account cards March 23 in Luzerne County.

The man apparently inserting the device at the Honesdale bank at 9:54 p.m. March 20 fled the area in a white sport utility vehicle.

The Dime Bank estimated as many as 20 customers’ cards may have been compromised before the skimming device was found.

Troopers say a white man and woman were seen using fraudulent cards at a Walgreens Drug Store in Kingston Borough in Luzerne County.  They left the area in a white Lincoln MKC crossover.

Investigators say the same individuals are suspects in similar incidents in Lancaster County.
