The Binghamton area has no lack of restaurants, that's for sure. So many great restaurants I might add. I have been to many of them, although after living here for close to 40 years, there are a few I still need to visit for the first time.

That being said, or written, There are a few restaurants that used to be here that I'd like to see return. Some are still in business, just not here, and there are ones that no longer exist. Do you agree with my choices?

    Dairy Queen

Ok, it's mostly an ice cream store, but it's food nonetheless. I can't remember the last time I had a peanut butter blizzard. They have awesome ice cream. Can't we get one back?

    The Alamo

When I first arrived in Binghamton, there were a couple still here. For some reason I don't remember much about them, but I seem to recall the food was good. I think it was just a take out stand, right?

    Hooters

Yes, Hooters. For the wings. I like the way they cook the wings. That's it...really. I'm also a fan of their curly fries.

    Chi-Chi's

You either loved the place or you hated it. Personally, I loved it. Never had a bad meal there. Seemed to be more food on the plate than I could eat in one sitting, and I can eat a lot.

    The Vestal Steakhouse

Back in the 80s and early 90s, it was one of my favorite places to bring out of town guests. Remember your server bringing out the huge plate of various types of bread? Yum! It was a Vestal icon.
