The Bundy brothers lived in a beautiful home on Main Street in Binghamton and began manufacturing time recording clocks. Their company would grow into IBM. John D. Rockefeller who is considered the wealthiest American of all time, and his family briefly lived in Owego and he attended school at Owego Academy.

George Francis Johnson was born in Massachusetts but moved to Endicott to supervise a work crew in a section of a shoe factory that he would later go on to co-own with Henry B. Endicott. The company would be called the Endicott-Johnson Company.
