107 Parking Tickets Issued as Binghamton Snow Removal Continues
As promised, Binghamton police are cracking down on people who have ignored warnings to move their cars to assist in snow removal efforts.
Mayor Richard David's office said four vehicles were ordered towed on Monday and early Tuesday. City police also issued 107 tickets for illegally parked cars.
In a news release, David said ticketing and towing are "the last resort as many vehicles are still blocking snow removal and cleanup operations." He said "we've provided more than enough time and are well past any grace period for digging out cars."
The mayor said people need to take responsibility for their vehicles and follow the city's alternate side winter parking rules.
David said: "Move them or they will be towed."
Illegally parked vehicles may be reported to Binghamton police by calling (607) 723-5321.
