When was the last time you thought about your toothbrush? It sounds silly to ask, but that little gadget performs an important task: killing germs and cleaning our mouths.

I thought a lot about my brush when I forgot to pack it in an overnight bag recently. Yep, I had to get a new one.

Without the toothbrush, communication would be tough. Can you imagine a world of people with stinky breath?  Eww!

The nifty people at the School of Dentistry, at the University of Alabama Birmingham, had some interesting information about the toothbrush and I found some more, so here are your "toothbrush care fast facts"!

1. You should soak your toothbrush in anitbacterial mouthwash. Kind of obvious reason why there.

2. Never store your toothbrush near the toilet, store it on the opposite end of the room or cover it. When you flush the toilet little droplets land on your brush. Disgusting!

3. Replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months. If it starts looking worn out before the 3 month mark, replace it.

4. Replace your toothbrush after you get sick. The germs will stay on it.

5. As many as ten million germs can be found on a toothbrush.

I don't know about you, but I am thinking of using a new toothbrush every day after seeing this!
