This weekend, American Apparel posted a picture of what they thought were fireworks on one of their social media pages.

It turned out to be a picture of the space shuttle Challenger exploding. HUGE fail! Their excuse after being called on it? The employee who posted it was born after the Challenger incident.

Really? So the explosion looked like fireworks?? Not to my recollection. Not even close. Since, you know, it was during the day!

If this excuse is "valid" then it seems our young adults and youth need serious history lessons about the modern era...with pictures. I wonder what else these kids don't know. This would be why I am concerned for the fate of the country. You learn not to repeat history's mistakes by knowing your history.

Are we bound to repeat horrible mistakes because of lack of knowledge? Probably. But, this is only my humble opinion.
